VILLIERSDORP - BIG HEARTED TOWN
Yesterday the UN’s World Food Program was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2020 and as today, October 10th is International Homeless Peoples Day we thought it was a good time to introduce a young man from our town...
Meet Dylan Padayachee a Grade 11 learner from De Villiersgraaf High School. As part of his Red Jacket Project to raise community awareness he did more than just pay lip service. Dylan took up a cash collection among his fellow learners and in a few months raised R3000.
Dylan decided to make his donation to the Ecclesia Feeding Centre run by Heidi Louw and her husband Randell.
After the presentation Dylan joined the Ecclesia team at the soup kitchen they hold every Thursday afternoon in an open plot on Watsonia Street in Bodorp so he could get a little hands on experience of the good work that Ecclesia does for those in need. According to Randell they sometimes feed up to 400 people on a Thursday afternoon.
Villiersdorp Tourism gives a big thumbs up to Dylan Padayachee for his sterling effort and the team at Ecclesia Centre for the work they do for the under privileged members of our community.
If you want to donate to the Ecclesia Centre to help them continue their good work please contact Heidi Louw on 061 509 1369.
