WHO ARE WE
Ecclesia Centre is a registered NPO organization that serves all of Villiersdorp and its surroundings. Ecclesia Centre’s goal is to alleviate hunger in Villiersdorp by soliciting, collecting, cooking, and packaging food for distribution through a network of service agencies and programs that serve our town through soup kitchens and other charities and volunteers. Our services include food parcel programs, emergency food programs, and a youth program that provides opportunities for “at-risk ” youth, which we will be continuing as soon as it is safe to do so under the current pandemic.
WHO WE SERVE
Our client base is low-income people, mainly families who are affected by the current pandemic and who need emergency help to put food on the table. Ecclesia Centre currently serves as an umbrella for other feeding programs during the COVID 19 pandemic. These programs actively solicit food, prepares and serves the community under strict hygiene measures. Collectively Ecclesia Centre and its partners serve more than 7 000 meals per week.

NEED ANALYSIS
It is estimated that the number of children and adults who need services from Ecclesia Centre will increase during the next 3 - 6 months as this pandemic progresses. Our services improve the ability of families to care for children and themselves. Ecclesia Centre and its umbrella programs’ services, now, are a small invaluable and much-needed investment in comparison to the cost of ignoring the problem of hunger in Villiersdorp and the influence it has on a number of health and crime issues.
