More than 70 bird species have been recorded at the premises.
The Southern African Bird Atlas Project (SABAP-2) for the Suiderstrand Pentad has almost 190 recorded species.
The Agulhas Plain Birding Project has recorded 288 species on the Agulhas Plain.
With the various species that are regular visitors to Wings Self-Catering, it has been very exciting to see the many chicks that have hatched to various species. The most prominent has been the Cape Spurfowl, Common Waxbills, Fiscal Flycatchers and the Cape White-eyes that have become daily visitors to Wings Self-Catering.
The Spotted Eagle Owls have also been very busy and active in January calling at each other from Wings Self-Catering’s roof and other nearby high-points. They have also been active in hunting from these high-points.
