When looking for schooling options in the region, there are two primary schools in Struisbaai and L’Agulhas to consider, depending on your budget and child’s needs. 

Right in the heart of L’Agulhas, prospective students can explore independent schooling at a Christian, dual-medium school dedicated to learners from Grade 00 to Grade 7. The academy was founded on the shared ideals of establishing a school where classes are small and where every effort is made towards the highest educational standards at the southernmost tip of Africa. Just a few kilometers outside of L’Agulhas, the picturesque fishing village of Struisbaai has its own primary school that services the local community. This public school can be found on 5th Avenue within this little coastal settlement. Struisbaai is most well regarded for its 14km stretch of pristine coastline, its old harbour dotted with colourful boats and the small fishing community who still resides there. The village has remained relatively untouched by the rigors of overdevelopment and offers locals and children many leisure activities to enjoy after school or over the weekend, including fishing, horse riding, hiking, paintball, quad biking and diving.

Together the two towns are set within a region that lays claim to 4 national parks with more than 8500 species of flowering plants and a bounty of birds in the wetlands, allowing Mother Nature to continue to teach the children of the area even outside of the school day. 

L’Agulhas and Struisbaai are ideal to bring up a family for those who are interested in living a simple, comfortable and happy existence by the sea. The region has both public and independent primary schools as options for families looking to enroll their kids.
