Cape Agulhas in the Overberg region is a collection of smaller towns and farming communities, both inland and coastal. Places like Napier, Struisbaai, Arniston and Bredasdorp all make up this gorgeous part of the Overberg. Home to the southern-most tip of Africa, Agulhas is a thriving tourist destination that boasts tremendous amenities. Aside from the impeccable tasting venues and breweries in Agulhas, you can also find a host of accommodation, activities, things to do and convenience stores that keep you and your travel companions comfortable, entertained and stocked up on necessities.

However, Cape Agulhas is not reserved for holidaymakers. This thriving community is a bustling town all-year round. From farmers and entrepreneurs to contractors, architects and restaurant owners. Many of the businesses here operate thanks to the tourism, but there wouldn’t be any tourism here, if it wasn’t for the people that live here, creating an epic symbiotic relationship.

Situated off R317 via the N2 highway, those who enjoy long distance road trips will love the scenic drive through the farmlands. Approximately 224kms from Cape Town CBD, you can most certainly complete the trip in one day. Best of all, canola fields, mountain passes, wind farms and quirky farm stalls along the way ensure that the trip won’t even feel long at all.

Alternatively, those looking to travel from outside the Western Cape can access Agulhas via the N2 highway. By car, Agulhas is over 1400kms from Johannesburg and Durban respectively. So, if long road trips like that are not your thing, simply fly into Cape Town International Airport and hire a car. Otherwise, if you enjoy being a passenger and taking in the sights, there are several major bus and sleep liners that include Agulhas on their itinerary.
