The Everest Within Me

The only mountain I need to conquer is the Everest within me.

It doesn’t matter how long you have been embroiled in a narcissistic relationship. There is a high probability that co-dependence may have gradually become your excuse for staying, surviving, and putting yourself last.

And because of this, you may feel as though you have sunk into a deep, dark hole, a place where you feel smaller, insignificant and worthless.

But you are none of those things.

Over time, you may have internalised many of the limiting and negative beliefs the narcissist accused you of. For survival, for peace, and simply to get through another day, it became easier to believe them than to believe yourself.

But those beliefs are not who you are.

There is a beautiful future waiting for you beyond the hole.

Yes, the journey out may be tough.

Yes, there may be days when you question yourself.

And yes, climbing your own personal Everest takes courage.

But you don't have to conquer the whole mountain today.

You only need to take the first step.

That first step is a choice to begin believing in yourself again.

A choice to question the beliefs that have kept you small.

A choice to reclaim your voice.

A choice to remember your worth.

A choice to stop living according to someone else's version of who you are.

Your future can be very different from your past.

And it begins with the first step you choose to take today.
