From Forest to Farm: The Art of Crafting Durable Fynbos Poles

1. Ever wondered what goes into creating a durable, long-lasting Fynbos pole? It’s a process of patience and precision!

Once our poles are debarked, the real art of classification begins. Each pole is carefully measured and hand-sorted into specific classes:

• Class 2: 50-80mm

• Class 3: 80-100mm

• Class 4: 100-120mm

• Class 5: 120-140mm

After sorting, our bell logger lifts each heap to its dedicated zone where they are meticulously pin-stacked for drying. This crucial air-drying phase is the most time-consuming part of our process and the main reason for the waiting period.

But why is this wait so essential?

Because if the moisture content is too high, the wooden pole will not properly absorb the CCA preservative treatment. Proper drying ensures each pole is ready to fully suck up the treatment, guaranteeing its strength and longevity against the elements.

We believe in taking the time to do it right, delivering you a product built to last. Your patience allows us to uphold our commitment to quality!

2. Let's talk treatment!

It starts with patience.

Our team individually selects each perfectly dry pine pole from time-cleared heaps, ensuring only the best are ready for the CCA treatment process.

But here’s what makes Bergplaas truly special:

Our secret ingredient is nature itself. We’re fortunate to have our own pristine underwater fountain on the property.

Our CCA solution is mixed with this untouched fresh water, giving our poles a natural boost for a superior, long-lasting final product.

It’s this combination of careful process and pure natural resources that sets our poles apart.

3. Precision handling for premium poles.

After their CCA treatment, our Fynbos Pine Poles are carefully moved with our bell logger to the drying racks.

This ensures they remain flawless and ready for a long, resilient life supporting your projects.

Quality in every step.

4. Our orders are strapped, sorted, and ready for their journey!

Our team uses strong white straps to bundle each class of pole, a simple but crucial part of our process.

This ensures every order is:

• Easy to identify

• Quick to load

• And even quicker to offload at your vineyard or DIY project.

Efficiency from our depot to your door. That's the Fynbos Team promise.

5. The final stage before dispatch!

Strapped. Classed. Sorted. Loaded.

Our process is designed for efficiency and accuracy, creating separate heaps for a seamless delivery.

Ready when you are.
