Trust Your Gut: When to Reject a Popular Idea

"Don’t let others convince you that the idea is good when your gut tells you it’s bad." - Kevin Rose, co-founder of Digg

Remember, we all hold individual dreams and goals. We live by our own expectations and act according to our unique attachments. And this is good.

Our uniqueness brings challenges and rewards that are perfect for us. Just because we don’t agree or don’t join in, it doesn’t mean we’ll lose out or be failures. The timing might not be right for you. The outcome might be too small for where you're heading. There are countless variables at play in any situation.

Follow your path. Dream your dreams and set your goals. If you meet someone along the way with the same trajectory, consider yourself lucky. The reality is, we are all on our own distinctive paths. We grow and develop at different intervals, and we focus on different areas, even within a business partnership. That’s how it should be. We are meant to inspire and be inspired.

Never be afraid to go against the popular view. Be authentic and know who you truly are.
