The Hidden Cost of Being Strong All the Time
Being strong for too long changes you.
Not all at once.
Quietly.
Slowly.
In ways people around you may never notice.
You become emotionally tired before your day even begins.
Your mind never truly rests.
You struggle to sleep because your thoughts are always carrying everyone else.
You overthink.
You replay conversations.
You worry about how your choices affect other people.
And somewhere in all of that…
You disappear.
You begin functioning instead of living.
You smile while exhausted.
You show up while emotionally depleted.
You say “yes” while silently begging for space.
People may even admire how well you hold everything together.
But what they do not see is the inner conflict happening behind closed doors.
Part of you wants rest.
Part of you feels guilty for needing it.
Part of you wants freedom.
Part of you fears disappointing others.
This is what happens when you spend too long putting yourself last.
The mind becomes noisy.
The body becomes tired.
The soul becomes unheard.
And eventually…
Your entire being starts asking for change.
Not because you are weak.
But because you were never meant to carry the entire world alone.
You are allowed to choose yourself too.
