Theewaterkloof Municipality officials visited the Hottentots Holland team of Working on Fire yesterday, who are conducting a fuel load reduction through a firebreak construction in Caledon.

This is in preparation for the #WOF_WC Fire Awareness Campaign launch, under the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction theme 2022: ‘Early Warning and Early Action for All.’

The launch will be held on Friday at the Victoria Hall in Caledon, in partnership with Theewaterskloof Municipality.

Theewaterskloof Executive Mayor, Alderman Karel Papier will be in attendance to give the keynote address.

A first responder convoy will start at the front entrance of the municipality at 9:30am and will end at Victoria Hall.

The official programme will start at 10:00 followed by various exhibitions on Fire Awareness, Climate Change and Risk Reduction.
