With the large number of outdoor activities in the area, Kleinmond is fortunate enough to have a moderate temperature throughout the year. The temperature averages approximately 16°C and in the summer months it reaches an average high of 20°C and in the winter months an average low of 12°C.
Although the climate is generally warm and temperate the area does receive a lot of rain throughout the year. It rains more in the winter months and there is an average annual rainfall of 643mm.
Kleinmond is one of the more developed towns in the Overberg and so even in winter there is still a lot of entertainment, especially lining the cobbled street of Harbour Road. Welcoming hot coffee shops, art galleries, restaurants and shops beckon visitors even in the chilly months. The heavier rains increase the water levels along the Palmiet River and during winter it turns into grade III river rafting.
Come sun or winter there is always something to do in the coastal town.
