The hills around Napier also offer a couple of great hiking trails to enjoy. A popular choice is the guided Grootberg Trail which gives you a bird’s eye view of Napier and the neighbouring regions. The circular trail takes you around the summit of Grootberg, past Sopieshoogte and back to the starting point. The trail allows for panoramic views across the Agulhas Plains towards the coast, Napierto the north and Bredasdorp to the east. Along the way you can view various species of Fynbos endemic to the area and even catch a glimpse of the illusive Klipspringer.
