The same is true for the peak of whale watching season – August and September. If you’re travelling to Pringle Bay in the winter, be sure to check out the change in opening times for the restaurants. Most of them will have signs up letting people know their shorter hours or when the owners are going on their winter holiday.

Many of these restaurants have been around for years and are now institutions in terms of where to eat in Pringle Bay. The food is fresh and served with a friendly welcoming smile to all – locals and visitors alike. Over in Rooi Els, visitors are also able to head out for some delicious meals at the local restaurant. Here you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and supper most days of the week. They cook fresh specials like a soup of the day and offer up tasty treats to go with a cup of coffee or tea. Rooi Els also has a pub that is open for a late breakfast right through to dinner time. Both are great places to grab a bite to eat after a day at the Rooi Els beach.
There are a couple of coffee shops amongst the Pringle Bay restaurants that serve delicious cakes and sweets, as well as a good breakfast and lunch. Be sure to check the opening times as they don’t serve breakfast every day of the week.
