Discovering Inner Power: Breaking Free from the Need to Control Everything

People who have an overpowering need to control everything and everyone, are searching for control within. The smallest bump in their path sends them over the emotional edge and they feel that they are losing control of their life.

Have you met them? They are angry at everything ("dead" things for all purposes - roads, noisy sidewalks). They are always criticising because things are not done a certain way. And so the list can continue endlessly.

Why? Because if one thing "falls out of place" externally their entire emotional structure will crumble. The more we want to control the outside world, the more we are experiencing internal turmoil. We live in stress, fear that things will go wrong, we judge, and we have days filled with anger.

Find your true power within. Know that you are not the world without - your exterior world is a reflection of your interior world. You are amazing, you are capable, you are so much more than you give yourself credit for.

Next time first breathe into your belly - deactivate the sympathetic fight-flight response. Feel and follow that breath in and out. Now move forward in your actions and thoughts. It is not about suppressing your emotions, it is about allowing them and taking control of the self.

You don't need to control everything, you only need to recognise you.
