Let go of excessive guilt
How often do you feel guilty when you take time for yourself? Midweek, taking time to come back to yourself? Are you plagued by guilt for innocent behaviour that benefits you?
For a moment, consider the child who feels guilty about doing poorly at school without the possibility of considering a volatile situation at home. The person who feels guilt for being needy, without acknowledging that their needs were never met in the past.
We create beliefs as a result of past experiences. You gain no value to your life by allowing those old beliefs to dictate your today through your guilt. You did not cause the trauma - you should not carry the guilt for wanting your needs met.
Become aware of where in your life you experience excessive guilt - this does not mean not taking responsibility for what you caused, but being aware if your responsibility is in the appropriate context. Once you are aware that there is excessive guilt regarding certain situations, you can "own" your guilt, and now you can do something about it.
Excessive guilt is draining and debilitating. Let it go, you are a magical being deserving of all the love, recognition, and joy that you desire. It is your birth right.
Will you acknowledge that you have excessive guilt? Will you gift yourself freedom from this guilt by releasing the cause?
