“CONSIDER CAPE AGULHAS” Economic Development Conference

Dear readers, 

I had the privilege to attend the “CONSIDER CAPE AGULHAS” Economic Development Conference which was held on Thursday 5 September 2019 at the training facilities of Overberg Agri in Bredasdorp.  

Western Cape Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Ivan Meyer had the 110 invited guests bound to their seats talking about the importance of investment in the Cape Agulhas Municipal area, the desperate need for job opportunities, and the development of the youth. He said that success is a choice and not a result and stressed the importance of setting clear targets and goals and that collaboration between the Municipality and the Business Sector is of utmost importance. 

The purpose of the conference was to provide selected investors/developers with the opportunity to showcase the extent and scope of their proposed developments to the Cape Agulhas Business Community and in so doing ensure that any needs arising from the Business Sector are addressed and opportunities identified; a goal that was clearly met. The personnel of the Cape Agulhas Municipality could also understand the extent, scope and implications of the proposed developments, relating to the provision of basic services, and can now plan accordingly. 

The four developer's presentations were beautifully done, and we all knew exactly what is going to take place. We are looking forward to seeing these developments taking shape and feel excited about the prospects of more such developments.
