Discover Struisbaai: Pristine Beaches and Vibrant Harbour

Expect a scenic route to Struisbaai that is blissfully uncongested and virtually traffic-free.

Aside from being known for its pristine white sandy beaches that stretch all the way to Arniston, our bustling harbour, located around 220 kilometres east of Cape Town, is a vibrant mix of people, laughter, and activity with many different coloured boats. Visitors can watch the local fishermen bring in their daily catch and purchase fresh fish at the port.

The picture-perfect settlements of Hotagterklip and Molshoop are characterised by their authentic and beautifully preserved thatched roof houses, as well as the smiling faces of the local community.

The harbour is always a colourful mixture of people, laughter, and activity. The multi-coloured boats bring in freshly caught fish nearly every day, and they, along with the now resident stingrays, are delightful attractions of the town.

Alongside the local stingrays, a blind Cape fur seal has made itself at home in the harbour and is fed by the fishermen—one of our town's welcoming attractions.

The old wooden fishing boats, or "chukkies," as they are often known, present excellent photographic opportunities, especially after nightfall when the light softens and the harbour’s lights lend atmosphere to the scene.

The annual Geelstertfees (Yellowtail Festival), which features food vendors, artists, and musicians, is also held in Struisbaai.
