Cape Agulhas Classic MTB 2016

Cape Agulhas welcomes you to the ultimate mountain biking challenge at the Southern Tip of Africa, the Cape Agulhas Classic MTB 2016! The event takes place on the 17th of December and signifies the beginning of the December holidays proper.

Starting off at the NG Gemeente Suidpunt in Struisbaai, this hardy mountain bike route takes you from Struisbaai towards L’Agulhas along Marine Drive, past the renowned Cape Agulhas Lighthouse towards Suiderstrand and on past panoramic beaches, around the climbing Anysberg and back towards the starting point along the back roads of Struisbaai.

The event includes a technical and challenging 72 km, a more scenic 46 km, a downscaled 35 km and a 10 km leisure ride which can be enjoyed at your own pace. The mountain bikes races kick off at 7:30 with next distances to follow every 15 minutes. This year there is also the newly added family holiday run which will take place just before sunset on the 16th. The run holds 5 km and 10 km options which lead you across tar, beach and off-road terrains.
