18 Days to Christmas: Picnic

When last did you go on a picnic? A basket filled with awesome eats, something to drink, a blanket, perhaps a book to read, or what about a card or board game for the family?

We have become a society that wants to pay for our relaxation. What about all the things that are for free?

One Christmas, our family packed all the eats, loaded up a folding table, tablecloth, chairs, blanket, and some toys, and we set off into the mountains to find a little stream. In the shade of the car, we set up for the picnic. And what was the greatest fun - the children and their father racing their leaves down the stream, seeing whose leaf would win. Those become special times. They also take you away from the human race, bringing you into nature, where you can build bonds with the people you will soon be dependent on during your family holiday.
