It’s official! Everybody Loves Greyton!
Everybody loves Greyton and it shows because on Sunday the 25th of July the village and its community were officially awarded the well-deserved title of Kwêla’s Dorp van die Jaar 2021.
Greyton is “Kwêla Dorp van die Jaar 2021”
A close-knit community in the Overberg shone brightly at this year’s sought after, Kwêla Dorp van die Jaar 2021, competition. After winning the Western Cape round Greyton did what came naturally and won the hearts of South Africans who voted for them as their favourite.
Warm hospitality, an abundance of creativity and helpings of wholesome good food set against a backdrop of rambling roses, the picturesque Riviersonderend Mountains and historic architecture, were the winning combination this year.
Fantastic Prizes And A Lot To Look Forward To!
Among the prizes is a world-class 45-second tourism advert courtesy of the Kwêla production team that will be used to market Greyton in R1,000,000 worth of television airtime slots. This fantastic prize will not only benefit Greyton but every Overberg town that visitors travel through to get to them in future visits. Another great prize to look forward to is the KIA-Festival which will be held when public events are permitted and it is safe to do so.
