OGG welcomes members to 2026 with a strong programme of talks, breakfast meetings and Zoom presentations running from February to April, covering topics such as tailings dams, Witwatersrand geology, carbon systems, sedimentology and large-scale structures.

The newsletter also shares key conferences and symposia to diarise, including the University of Melbourne GOLD Conference (March 2026) and GOLD-27 at Sun City in April 2027.

A heartfelt tribute is included in memory of Prof. Stephen Edward Haggerty, a highly respected figure in mantle and kimberlite research.

Members will also find geology-related resources, OGG YouTube presentation links, and details on 2026 membership fees and activities, highlighting OGG’s ongoing commitment to education, mentorship and geoscience awareness.
