Council Appoints Municipal Manager Eben Phillips

The Cape Agulhas Municipal Council has appointed Mr Eben Phillips as Municipal Manager, for a further term of a maximum of five years not exceeding a period of one year after the election of a new council in terms of the Municipal Systems Act.

The vacancy was advertised nationally, and a total of 7 applications were received, after proper screening, three candidates were invited to attend the evaluation and interview sessions that were held on 19 September 2022.

The selection panel consisted of Executive Mayor Paul Swart (Chairperson), Deputy Mayor Raymond Ross(CAM), Mr Richard Bosman (Municipal Manager of Overberg District Municipality), Cllr Marthelene Matthysen (Observer), Chairpersons of the Unions (Observer), Ms Nombasa Mhlati-Musewe (Divisional Head: HR & OD) and Riël Hugo and Associates Industrial Psychologists who was appointed to facilitate the selection process.

On Friday, 30 September 2022, Council resolved to appoint Mr Eben Phillips as Municipal Manager. The Executive Mayor Cllr Paul Swart congratulated Mr Phillips and wished him well with his new term of employment.
