Fast Tip: Putting a Fresh Coat of Paint on Your Exterior
Want to freshen up an existing exterior paint job? Start by testing the paint in several areas with a cross-hatch adhesion test. Cut with a sharp Stanley blade using a scraper as a guide and cut six lines, 3mm apart horizontally and six lines vertically, 3mm apart. Stick 45mm masking tape firmly across the middle of the cut. Remove the tape quickly. If more than four pieces of paint come off with it you will need to strip the loose paint off before applying a suitable primer and then the next top coat.
