L’Agulhas Bowls Club Celebrates Inaugural Novice Day

L’Agulhas Bowls Club celebrated an important milestone on Wednesday 12 August, when it hosted its first-ever Novice Day, proudly sponsored by Overberg Wealth & Risk Management.

The event comes at an exciting time for the club, which has seen its membership double over the past year. With interest in bowls continuing to grow, the Novice Day was introduced to give newer bowlers an opportunity to gain valuable experience on the green in a relaxed and supportive environment.

The afternoon proved to be a great success, with the novices embracing the opportunity to compete and enjoy the friendly spirit of the tournament. A number of experienced club members also came along to watch the action and offer their support and encouragement.

Overberg Wealth & Risk Management played an important role in making the inaugural event a memorable one. The sponsor provided prizes and water bottles for the participants, while its banners and branded display added to the atmosphere around the green.

Adding to the occasion, Overberg Wealth & Risk Management entered a team in the tournament, giving representatives of the sponsor the opportunity to join the L’Agulhas bowlers on the green and contribute to the camaraderie of the day.

Competition was keen but friendly, with Strepies van Wyk, Didi Kruger and JP van der Merwe taking first place.

André Krahtz, Karen Nortier and Joe Struwig finished second, while Diane Möller, Helmut Painczyk and Mariana Pietersen claimed third place.

With the continued growth of L’Agulhas Bowls Club and increasing interest from new players, the Novice Day will now become an annual event on the club’s calendar.
