Food Valley Gardens - The Future Of Sustainable Gardening Is Here!
Sustainable Gardening Valley Food Gardens is a non-profit agricultural initiative created by Greyton Transition Town (GTT) to uplift the communities of Genadendal, Bereavill, Voorstekraal, Boesmanskloof and Greyton.
Unlocking A Communities Food-Growing Potential
By unlocking the community’s food-growing potential, Valley Food Gardens assists its members every step of the way with the education and resources needed to establish healthy, self-sustaining, vegetable gardens. This resourcefulness directly influences economic access to food, reduces family food bills, enables more diverse diets, boosts immune systems and provides growers with a potential source of income.
Bringing The Valley Food Gardens Experience To You
Valley Food Gardens buys surplus vegetables from growers' which get packed into veggie boxes and sold to the public at RAW, a local wholefood store, and at weekly community markets. Other than educating and assisting the community, Valley Food Gardens offers guided medicinal plant walks and permaculture workshops for the public by arrangement.
