Now in Stock: The Vineyard Party!
Winemaker Jolette says that “in 2020, the party moved to Constantia. The grapes, from the GD14 clone, come from a small vineyard planted in 2014 on decomposed granite, about 3km from the ocean. In addition to our skin contact Sémillon, I'm Your Huckleberry, we're thrilled to introduce you to a new party member, Daisy If You Do. Whilst 2020 Huck is 100% skins, 2020 Daisy is made from 100% whole bunch pressed, pure, juice fermented Sémillon. Huckleberry is spicy and savoury and brings the tannin, whilst Daisy is sitting pretty, pure-fruited and floral.” Here are WineMag’s Christian Eedes’ Tasting Notes:
Daisy If You Do 2020: Whole-bunch pressed, maturation lasting 10 months in older oak. Peach, citrus, hay, fynbos plus hints of bee’s wax and earth. The palate has a dense core of fruit and is lightly creamy in texture, bright acidity lending refreshment value - well balanced and full of flavour, the finish having a saline quality to it. A wine of precision. Alc: 13.3%. Christian Eedes’ rating: 94/100.
I’m Your Huckleberry 2020: 100% skin contact for 15 days, maturation lasting 10 months in older oak. Top notes of floral perfume, hay, ginger and other spice precede citrus, stone fruit and some waxiness. Concentrated fruit, snappy acidity, the finish slightly grippy and deeply savoury. Lots going on and completely delicious. Christian Eedes’ rating: 94/100.

About Us
Have you ever heard about a great wine but could never find a bottle for yourself (to share with friends, of course)? Well, the team at Wine & Company do all the hard work for you! We visit wine farms and attend tastings to find, taste, and then stock wine from the smaller Estates and independent winemakers who buy grapes and produce outstanding wine under their own labels – much the same as the French negociants have been doing for centuries. Given that these winemakers make wine in such small quantities, sometimes just a single barrel, their wine will never be found on the shelves of the major retailers, but only in specialist shops like Wine & Company on High Street, Hermanus.
In addition to the great selection of well-known wines and MCC's, we also stock local craft gin and beer, French Champagne, Belgian Ales as well as whisky and other spirits. Wine & Company (established in 1998 by Bartho Eksteen) has a well-earned reputation for stocking hard-to-find small-batch wines and we strive to continue this great tradition. If you purchase a bottle of wine from us and it is faulty we will gladly replace the bottle and return the faulty wine to the winemaker.
Feel free to contact Wine & Company if you need a particular wine and we will do our best to source it for you. We are also able to ship wine locally and to most countries so do ask about international shipping.
