Wine and Co - Wine from Sondagskloof...
BRUNIA SONDAGSKLOOF
After Wade Sanders completed his degree at Elsenburg Agricultural College in 2010, he joined the CWG internship programme and worked with Le Riche and Bouchard Finlayson whilst also completing two international harvests in Edna Valley, USA and in the Loire Valley, France. He then worked six vintages with Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines before coming to the Brunia Wines project in Sondagskloof full time this year. All these experiences presented him with the opportunity to explore and experiment with natural winemaking techniques and enhanced his perception of fine wine, and we are very happy to have his range of wines on our shelves.
2017 Pinot Noir: Sourced from a single vineyard parcel of sustainably farmed 9 year old vines grown on quartz based soils which contain limestone. This parcel gives a taut, mineral expression of Pinot Noir with a bright acidity, which lends tension and ageability to the wines. Awards & Accolades: 90/100 Tim Atkin.
2018 Brunia Sémillon: Sourced from single vineyard parcel of sustainably farmed 11 year old vines grown on granitic soils. This parcel gives a bright, mineral expression of Semillon with a coated acidity. Awards & Accolades: 92/100 Tim Atkin.
2018 Brunia Syrah: Sourced from single vineyard parcel of sustainably farmed 12 year old vines grown on granitic soils. This parcel gives a classic expression of Syrah, with typical pepper and clove aromas. This is a very textured wine with fresh tannins and great length. Awards & Accolades: 90/100 Tim Atkin.
2018 Brunia White: The Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from a 13 year old vineyard parcel and the Semillon from a 11 year old vineyard both grown on granitic soils. This is a linear expression of this classic white varietal blend, with an energetic acidity and chiseled structure, possesses great ageing potential. Awards & Accolades: 92/100 Tim Atkin.

About Us
Have you ever heard about a great wine but could never find a bottle for yourself (to share with friends, of course)? Well, the team at Wine & Company do all the hard work for you! We visit wine farms and attend tastings to find, taste, and then stock wine from the smaller Estates and independent winemakers who buy grapes and produce outstanding wine under their own labels – much the same as the French negociants have been doing for centuries. Given that these winemakers make wine in such small quantities, sometimes just a single barrel, their wine will never be found on the shelves of the major retailers, but only in specialist shops like Wine & Company on High Street, Hermanus.
In addition to the great selection of well-known wines and MCC's, we also stock local craft gin and beer, French Champagne, La Trappe Trappist Ales as well as whisky and other spirits. Wine & Company (established in 1998 by Bartho Eksteen) has a well-earned reputation for stocking hard-to-find small-batch wines and we strive to continue this great tradition. If you purchase a bottle of wine from us and it is faulty or you are not satisfied with the quality, we will gladly replace the bottle and return the faulty wine to the winemaker.
Feel free to contact Wine & Company if you need a particular wine and we will do our best to source it for you. We are also able to ship wine locally and to most countries so do ask about international shipping.
