Hermanus is slowly getting busier with tourists and this means it's the end of another year which seems to have passed very quickly and incredibly slowly at the same time. We thank all our loyal customers for their support during this year, and wish the winemakers and our suppliers all the very best as they take some well-earned time off to spend with friends and family.
We will be open every day during the Festive Season, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day - and we're not suggesting you break the law, but....IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE BEACH, DO NOT FORGET THE WINE!
Carsten Migliarina is not a trained winemaker with degrees in Oenology or Viticulture - he was a sommelier, is self-taught and has completed harvests in South-Africa, Germany, Romania and China. Clean wines are the hallmark of the Migliarina brand. All his wines are individually hand crafted from some of the best vineyards in the Cape region with exceptional care being taken in preserving varietal and fruit character. Keeping it simple in the cellar with minimum intervention is the basis for ensuring that the wines are fruit driven and elegant. We love his wine and always have them in stock!
Saturday | Sunday Weekend tasting: The Mt Abora range has The Abyssinian red blend (Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Syrah, Grenache) and Koggelbos Chenin Blanc (made in an oxidative and minimal intervention style), and these have now been joined by the Sondebok White and Sondebok Red. Some of us over a certain age might recognise the Springbok 'Top of the Pops' in these labels from Pieter de Waal, Johan 'Stompie' Meyer and Krige Visser.'
The Sondebok White is 'mostly' Chenin Blanc while the Sondebok Red is a blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Cinsault. Join us this weekend to taste these new releases.....

COVID-19 RULES:
Just a reminder that we have an ON/OFF Consumption Liquor License that allows us to be open for tastings over weekends during the COVID-19 restrictions. This means that we are open every day of the week, and will still be able to have our weekend tastings.
Please note that our website does not show the complete range of wine that we have in stock, so please do contact us if you are looking for something not listed online, especially those that are 'allocation' only. We offer free delivery in Hermanus, and free shipping to major centres around South Africa for orders over R1500. Please contact us for international shipping rates.
