• Low BP: < 80/60 mmHg
• Optimal BP: 120/80 mmHg

2. Hypertension
When the blood pressure is persistently elevated. Your heart pumps the blood harder than normal and there may be resistance for blood flow in your arteries.
3. Hypotension
When the blood pressure is low or suddenly falls. This means your heart, brain and other parts of the body do not get enough blood.
4. Causes
• Hypertension can be caused by being overweight, lack of exercise, eating to much salt or having a lot of stress and anxiety.
• Hypotension can be caused by shock, heart attacks, sudden change in body position, dehydration or a severe allergic reaction.
5. Advice for prevention
• For hypertension, try to maintain a healthy weight and decrease salt amount in your diet. Manage your stress.
• For hypotension, drink more fluids and get up slowly after sitting or lying down.
