Week 6
South Africa’s only Shipwreck Museum can be found in Bredasdorp and showcases 150 wrecks that floundered along the Cape’s tumultuous coastline.
A good starting point for visible shipwreck viewing from shore would be a visit to L’Agulhas where the MFV Meisho Maru No. 38 ran aground in November 1982. The rusty remains of the ship lay in a remarkably scenic spot close to the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse.
Question 7 - Where is the annual ‘Patatfees’ held and in which season does it take place?
Answer to Question 6 - The Ship Museum can be found in Bredasdorp and shipwrecks can be seen from the shore at L’Agulhas.
