The Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy, encompassing over 20,000 hectares, is a vital protector of the Cape Floral Kingdom, the smallest yet most diverse floral kingdom on Earth. Here, you'll find a breathtaking array of fynbos species, many of which are endemic to this very area. Efforts by organisations like the Dyer Island Conservation Trust and the Pearly Beach Conservancy are crucial in safeguarding these unique terrestrial and marine environments through initiatives like beach clean-ups, alien vegetation clearing, and vital educational programs.

The theme for World Environment Day 2025, "Putting an End to Plastic Pollution," resonates deeply with our coastal community. Plastic pollution poses a significant threat to our marine life and pristine beaches.
