Spring News at Creative Skills Factory!
"How far that little candle throws its beams! So shines a good deed in a weary world." W. Shakespeare
Dear friends,
With gratitude and pride, we are entering a new season.
With the new blossoms of spring, we grow our intentions and dreams into real and tangible actions.
Last month our drama group planned a bake sale which they executed at the beginning of August - with great success.
Thank you very much to everyone who supported this initiative with ingredients and mentorship.
A BIG thank you also to all who signed up for our Circle of Friends initiative... please do continue to do so, your support goes a long way and means a lot.
With warm wishes,
Regina Broenner
Baking up a storm in Union's kitchen.
A very BIG thank you to Union in Stanford for making their facilities available for baking and for donating the ingredients to our Drama group.
The children made their own posters to advertise their cake sale.

In August, under the framework of the annual Stanford Festival of Community Arts, our children were mentored in puppetry by Mandiseli Maseti, a puppeteer, designer and script writer who trained at UNIMA SA and is the founder of Indawo YoBomi Centre for Life in Makhaza. Mandiseli travelled to Stanford to teach our children how to make their own LIFE-SIZE puppets using reeds at the Learning Tree.
Watch this space to see what the children are preparing for the festival.
Please contact us if you would like to support this creative initiative.
Since acquiring our resource HUB, the Learning Tree, and Creative Skills Factory adding new programmes to our offerings for the community, the number of children and youth attending our after-school creative workshops and other programmes have increased exponentially and of course, our costs have too.
So we are using our newsletter this month to remind you of our fundraising initiatives.
Our newest fundraising effort is our Circle of Friends which we have written to you about previously.
Just R150 per month covers the costs of materials, resources, and food for one child for a whole month!
This is a monthly donation made by monthly debit order or recurring payment made by
clicking on the link to our PayFast account where you select the recurring payments option - https://www.payfast.co.za/donate/go/creativeskillsfactory,
or by setting up a debit order on your bank account for your monthly donation, our banking details are below.
These monthly monetary donations benefit the donor too as Creative Skills Factory is registered as a Public Benefit Organisation, we can issue a Section 18A tax receipt which you can submit with your annual income tax return for a rebate.
You can support us by buying one of our beautiful blank greeting cards for any occasion, printed with art created by our children. Our cards are on display and for sale at both the Ou Meul and the Tourism Office in Stanford, or you can contact Regina at regina@creativeskillsfactory.co.za regarding these cards.
For the children, you can sponsor or buy an art kit or a few, which go to the children to use at home. These kits are R100 each and can be paid for via our PayFast account here.
You can buy a strong keyring made by Creative Skills Factory's team - the team have made these keyrings for their own use and they have lasted many years and are still as pretty and intact.
