Learning and Growing: Empowering Our Team through Training
This month, our team at the Learning Tree participated in multiple enriching training opportunities, reinforcing our commitment to continuous learning and development.
A highlight this month was a two-day after-school training camp hosted by the Enlighten Education Trust, in collaboration with the Department of Social Development in Hermanus. The training covered essential topics such as office management, financial management, norms and standards, the Children’s Act, fundraising, and engaging activities for after-school centres.
Our team found the experience both inspiring and informative, equipping them with valuable skills to enhance our programmes and better serve the children in our communities.
A big thank you to the Enlighten Education Trust and the Department of Social Development for their dedication and support in empowering after-school initiatives.
As we continue our journey of growth, our amazing team is applying this newfound knowledge and strengthening our impact.
Building Strong Foundations with Finding Thabo
Our Early Learning ECD team, Nombulelo and Cheriline, recently attended the Finding Thabo training provided by the REACH Trust in Stanford. Finding Thabo is an interactive, play-based game designed to stimulate key areas of the brain, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning. You can learn more at www.findingthabo.com.

We are proud to have been part of this inspiring collaboration alongside the Butterfly Centre, the Grootbos Foundation, and Food-4-Thought. Partnerships like these strengthen our collective impact in early childhood development, and we look forward to more joint ventures in the future.
Since the training, our ECD team has been actively implementing the Finding Thabo resources in our programmes, and the children absolutely love them! We are excited to see the positive impact this innovative approach brings to their learning journey.
A big thank you to everyone involved!

An Exciting Update from Young Artist, Nolundi
This month, our talented young artist Nolundi, who is studying at the Bridges for Music Academy in Cape Town, had an incredible experience - she met world-renowned DJ Black Coffee, who visited Bridges Academy as a guest speaker. He shared valuable insights into the music industry, inspiring and motivating the students as artists.
Adding to the excitement, Nolundi was honoured to be selected as Person of the Week in March, leading the group in meditation. As a token of appreciation, she received a Bridges for Music t-shirt, which she deeply appreciated.
Expressing her heartfelt gratitude for this journey, Nolundi said, “I am learning so much on this path, and I’m truly grateful for every opportunity.”
We are so proud of Nolundi and can’t wait to see where her talent and passion take her next!
We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for the support we have received so far in assisting Nolundi with her living expenses. With two more months to go, we would be enormously grateful for continued donations.
