Transforming Anger

Often, Anger stems from a deep-seated fear where we felt hurt when we were not valued.

Whether we want to hear it or not, your hurt stems from a much younger you.

A you who might not have had the coping tools necessary to deal with the situation.

A younger who might already have carried deep-seated hurt, and the situation was the final trigger.

Anger can often be the emotional and physical expression of a fear.

A fear of not being valued. A fear of not being seen or heard. A fear of being lesser than others and not being respected.

When that fear has become so big, that there is danger in every situation, we enter a phase of survival.

It is only through the recognition that this is survival, acknowledging that we have the knee-jerk reaction, that we take our power back and we can make the necessary changes.

Your anger is not you, it is a coping mechanism.

You are not a victim except when you believe that you are a victim to your choices.

Yes, out-of-control anger does not have an off-switch.

It is a process of understanding the pain, acknowledging that you can have power of the anger, making the choice to let go of the anger, and to do the necessary work.

To remain trapped in your old habit of anger response does not have to be.

Humans are amazing in that they get to choose, moment to moment, and with the right tools, you get to make those choices, powerful, empowering, and serving.
