The leisurely cruise is a collaboration between De Hoop Nature Reserve and Groobos Private Nature Reserve that encourages guests to hop onboard the Lady Stanford on their way to and from the two nature reserves. On the cruise, you’ll witness a bunch of abundant birdlife including more than 250 different species like Fish Eagles, Flamingos and the Blue Crane. You’re also likely to see a few otters, terrapin, Bontebok and horses on the fertile river banks.
The Lady Stanford is ideal for family or friends - it comfortably accommodates up to 26 passengers which makes it perfect for special occasions, social events and family gatherings. It runs daily trips for individual passengers and is also available for exclusive charters.
There are five scheduled cruises per day, depending on the season. Cruises can be booked on either a per person rate or exclusively. The per person rate of R295 includes light snacks and refreshments; the exclusive use of the entire boat (no snacks or refreshments provided) - R 3000 (maximum 26 people); the optional picnic bag, which serves two, must be ordered two days in advance - includes a delicious selection of breads, cheeses, salads, charcuterie, pate, dessert and water - R 395.
