- Sightings: Great White Sharks
- Location: Joubertsdam
- Water Temperature: Moderate
- Visibility: Moderate
A bright and early launch which was not so bright as we headed to sea just before sunrise however once on anchor the sky began to lighten just in time for our first shark to appear. We had a couple of juvenile Great White sharks checking us out in the beginning as our first cage of divers also enjoyed checking them out under the water hower as the day progressed in moved the larger individuals as three sub-adults joined us to round out the trip. The morning sightings included two of our well known individuals, a male nicknamed Shaun, that is currently the longest-standing animal currently in the bay, his presence we have been lucky enough to have for close to two months now and Clampy, a female that happens to be the largest shark to be sighted for us this Winter.
Back onto sea for our second trip and for some more shark sightings. The two males from the earlier trip showed up again, with Shaun and the smaller male giving our new guests beautiful views as did one of the juveniles from first trip. A new addition for the day was seen on this trip, a large female, that was first observed for this season on Wednesday of this week. This individual has quickly become a favourite amongst the crew and guests onboard who are lucky enough to see her with some stunning behaviour witnessed around the boat recently from this animal.
A fantastic day to end a successful week of Great White shark sightings.
