Age Is Just A Number
We are only as old as we tell ourselves we are. Then we go out into society and we look for examples of how people that age should behave. There is no rule, there is no handbook. There is only a fear of standing out, being different, and of not being accepted and included.
In today's world of cancel culture it is clear why we might fear not conforming. I want to invite you to take a moment and ask yourself: If I hold no fear, what would I do today that will impact the rest of my life?
When you do a quick Google search you will find many labelled 80- and 90-year old's who have obtained their Master’s Degree or Doctorate. You will find many 80-year-old people who have taken on amazing adventures. Science has shown that as we "stand" today, we should easily reach the age of 120.
When we make that connection that we can live a full life for as long as we choose, we find that suddenly the fear of not enough time, that time is running out, and that we should "stop and enjoy" life, vanishes. When suddenly you have another 30 or 40 years of meaningful life ahead, you behave differently.
If you did not have an idea of your age, what would you do today? How will you plan and dream about the rest of your life? What and who is stopping you?
