The geographical location of Voëlklip on the Cape South Coast, between Cape Town and Cape Infanta, places it in the heart of the Overberg's wine and floral kingdom. The area is an upmarket suburb that straddles the R43 as you leave Hermanus in the direction of Gansbaai.

Although the Atlantic Ocean’s Benguela current brings cooling south-easterly breezes to the area, December, January and February are sizzlers. The winter rainfall has soaked the earth and in thanks, Mother Nature has given new life to the landscape, which is now covered in generous splashes of pink Fynbos blossoms. Gardens in the area come to life and wildflowers dot every available pavement and empty field. A trip inland at the beginning of spring to see the endless blankets of canary yellow canola fields is one not to be missed! Spring celebrations in Voelklip include the annual Hermanus Whale Festival as well as other outdoor festivities.
