Stefan Botha Excels: Eurasia Youth Photo Contest
The young and passionate 15-year-old photographer, Stefan Botha, a Gr 10 learner from Hermanus Hoërskool, once again deserves recognition in the Gans-Berg News. During a previous report about this gifted young man, he referred to his participation in the upcoming International Youth Photo Contest Eurasia noframes Russia - which took place in the meantime.
Stefan received no less than 7 'Acceptances' for his photos: Green Mamba, Honey, Yellow Nile Croc, Elephant Seal, Eye Contact, Serval Clouded and Fish Eagle - a great photography achievement. Stefan was part of the team of South Africans who won the following: Best Photo Club Award Gold and PSSA Photographers of South Africa. Comments on the final results read as follows:
“A total of 73 students from thirteen schools/clubs across the country entered as The PSSA Youth Photographers of South Africa. A total of 45 students received a total of 353 Acceptances which included awards. They had an acceptance percentage of 42.7%. Western Cape Youth Photographers received 28 Acceptances, including 3 awards.”
Stefan started taking photos on a professional level in 2022 and focuses mainly on natural animal and marine life, with his Canon 5D MARK 3 camera. The photography hobby bit him from childhood, with his father, Johan Botha, who is a professional photographer. Stefan regularly participates in photography competitions and has received several awards. The Gans-Berg News congratulates Stefan on his recent achievement, as well as good luck with his photography future.
