Almal se bloed is rooi - A Hawston drama group production

The theatre group Story Team is currently running a drama programme for children in Hawston during the afternoons, offering them a platform to explore performance and creativity.

A group of talented young participants - Alexander Martin, Keisha Blankenberg, Cole-Lee Blankenberg, Jorjia Cloete, Tyrique Witbooi, Angelico Willemse, and Joshua Baadjies - were invited to take part in the ATKV's Regional Drama Competition in the Western Cape during the week.

Their show, titled Almal se bloed is rooi, delves into the influence of dictators and the impact of power on people’s lives.

Alongside the drama programme, Story Team partners with the municipality to raise awareness about environmental and community issues through live theatre and puppet shows. These performances feature colourful characters and focus on themes such as littering, water conservation, baboon management, waste disposal, and environmental responsibility.

This programme inspires young people across the Overstrand to become active, informed members of their community.

We wish the performers success in the future.
