Meet the Team at Core Catering Supplies Hermanus
Behind every successful business is a team of people who make things happen, and at Core Catering Supplies Hermanus, our small but dedicated team is all about looking after our customers and making sure they get the products and service they need. Serving restaurants, hotels and hospitality businesses across the Overberg and Theewaterskloof areas, our team brings together a mix of organisation, experience, customer service, and a genuine love for what we do.
So, let’s meet the people behind Core Catering Supplies Hermanus!
Carina van der Merwe, Owner and Franchisee
Carina is the owner of the Core Catering Supplies Hermanus franchise and wears a few different hats. She takes care of the bookkeeping and marketing, but her favourite part of the job is getting out there and supporting customers. And what a great group of customers they are! Carina gets to visit and work with some of the wonderful restaurants, hotels and hospitality establishments throughout the Overberg and Theewaterskloof. When she isn't working, you'll often find Carina enjoying the outdoors. She loves playing golf, going for runs and cycling with friends. For Carina, it's all about staying active, enjoying life and building great relationships with the people around her.
Alison Karstens, Admin Manager
If you've phoned Core Catering Supplies Hermanus, there's a good chance you've spoken to Alison! As the admin manager, Alison is a familiar face in the shop and is usually the friendly voice answering the phone. She also makes sure customers know when their orders or requested items have arrived, giving them a call so they don't miss out. Alison handles the ordering and works closely with suppliers to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. But perhaps what Alison enjoys most is chatting to customers. She loves a good conversation, and sometimes those conversations turn into wonderfully long stories! The older generation, in particular, seems to really enjoy her friendly nature and willingness to have a chat.
Shane Salies, Sales Manager and Delivery Driver
Shane is our sales manager and delivery driver, and you'll often find him out on the road visiting customers or making deliveries in our Toyota Hilux. Quiet, focused and organised, Shane likes to keep things running smoothly. He takes pride in making sure his orders are neat, accurate and properly organised.
He is also known for looking after his customers. Shane is incredibly loyal to the people he does business with and believes in giving them good value. The more a customer buys, the better the deal. Shane is always happy to see what he can do! Whether he's dropping off an order or checking in with a customer, Shane makes sure the job gets done properly.
A Team That Cares
Although each member of the Core Catering Supplies Hermanus team has their own personality and role, they all have one thing in common: they care about their customers. From Carina's customer visits and relationship building, to Alison's friendly conversations and behind-the-scenes organisation, and Shane's reliable deliveries and customer service, the team works together to support the hospitality industry across the region. So next time you visit Core Catering Supplies Hermanus, give the team a chance to say hello. You might get some great advice, a friendly chat, or perhaps even a better deal than you expected!
