Osteoporosis is a slow developing, insidious disease where bone density diminishes and the bones become increasingly brittle and crumble easily. A major problem in osteoporosis is that bones break easily. If the bone breaks, it is so thin that it takes a long time to knit. Osteoporosis can be prevented by taking calcium and magnesium supplements from an early age. It is never too late to start taking calcium.
