General Manager with a Farming Background
My client is currently looking for a dynamic and driven individual with good business sense to join their team to fill the role of General Manager. You should be able to maintain professional networks and keep abreast of developments in agricultural science and have a passion for agriculture.
This role includes close contact with and reporting to the owners.
General Manager
The General Manager is expected to improve efficiency and increase profits, and handle the overall operations of the company, whilst ensuring that key values are adhered to.
Thus, the General Manager’s job description includes but is not limited to:
• Brand development and management.
• Sales, marketing, and public relations support.
• Management of staff-related key issues.
• Overseeing governance and control.
• Overseeing the budget and financial health.
• General management of all other key areas of the farm (e.g. security, health and safety, risk, plant schedules, maintenance, etc.).
• Key contact point and communicator with the owners and the staff.
• Monthly report compilation and presentation to the owners.
Experience and Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years’ full general.
• Strong Microsoft Office suite skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Extensive experience in a farming-related field.
Qualifications
• Bcom in Business Management / Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or relevant.
