Chemicals in your Body Care Products
Is it REALLY worth it?
If you think of the chemicals in your body care products... we tend to be blasé with the notion that 'everyone is using it, so how bad can it be?'
Perhaps it's time to really take a few moments... and consider... what if it DOES happen to you?
Consider the simple 'antiperspirants' in your deodorant.
This is one of the leading causes of breast cancer in women. Why?
The body has certain areas that it uses to purge itself from toxins, one area being the underarms. Antiperspirants inhibit the body from perspiring, in short, releasing toxins from the underarm area.
The body then deposits these toxins in the lymph nodes since it cannot sweat them out. High concentrations of toxins lead to cell mutations = CANCER.
Then the chemicals like parabens (E216) which seep into tissue once applied to the skin. These mimic the female hormone estrogen which can drive the growth of breast tumours.
Heavy metals like aluminium, triclosan (prevent bacterial inflammation, making bacteria resistant to antibiotics), phthalates (DBP, BBP, DEP), and propylene glycol can all enter the lymphatic system through nicks in the skin caused by shaving.
While there is a huge drive to exercise and eat correctly, it's becoming just as important to consider what you are placing on the largest organ of your body - the skin. For this DOES have a tremendous role to play on your health going forward.
