What Is White Gold?
White gold isn’t actually white, it’s yellow gold mixed with other metals like nickel, silver, or palladium to make it look white or grey.
To get that shiny, bright white colour, jewellers coat it in rhodium. Over time, this coating wears off, and the yellowish tone underneath may show through.
Some key things to know:
• White gold with nickel can cause allergies for some people.
• White gold with palladium is better for sensitive skin but costs more.
• All white gold jewellery needs to be replated with rhodium every now and then to keep it looking new.
How long does the shine last? It all depends on how you wear and care for it!
