You Are Not Your Past
There is no shame in the pain you carry from your past.
There is awareness.
Because at some point, you did what you needed to do to cope.
You protected yourself.
You adapted.
You created patterns that made sense at the time.
But what once protected you…
can quietly begin to limit you.
Those patterns become stories.
Those stories become beliefs.
And those beliefs can become the very thing that holds you back
from the life you know is possible.
This is where inner conflict begins.
A part of you wants more.
Another part is still holding on to what feels “safe.”
So you hesitate.
You overthink.
You pull back… just as things start to move forward.
Not because you are incapable -
but because a part of you is still trying to protect you.
And this is where responsibility comes in.
Not to judge yourself.
Not to force change.
But to recognise:
What in me is no longer serving who I am becoming?
Because sometimes, growth requires you to step out of your own way.
To quiet the voice that doubts.
To soften the part that fears.
To allow another voice to be heard - the one that already knows.
When you've seen beyond yourself, then you may find,
peace of mind is waiting there.
Beyond the old patterns…
Beyond the limiting stories…
Beyond the identity you have outgrown…
There is a version of you that is not fighting to be seen.
They already see themselves.
They know their strength.
They honour their journey.
They choose differently - not from fear, but from truth.
And here is the shift:
You don’t become this person by waiting.
You become this person by choosing.
Choosing to move differently.
Choosing to respond differently.
Choosing to no longer let the past define the future.
You are not your past.
But you are responsible for what you do with it.
So ask yourself:
Where am I still holding onto a version of me that no longer fits?
And am I ready to step forward… as who I truly am?
