The existing decking was stripped and sanded before all the wooden surfaces were oiled to help protect the wood and keep it looking good for years to come.
Why use decking oil instead of a sealer or varnish?
Oiling helps maintain the wood over time without having to sand the surfaces completely bare again when it needs attention.
For this project, Ebony was used for the darker areas, while Light Oak was chosen for the decking around the pool. A lighter colour is a practical choice around the pool, where bare feet can get hot on darker surfaces.
