New Head Chef and General Manager Alaster Currie
Say hello to our brand-new head chef and general manager Alaster Currie!
Alaster Currie is no newbie when it comes to the kitchen, and he certainly knows his way around it.
The blisters and bruises he can show off is just a little sneak peek into the commitment this food lover has for the culinary arts.
Alaster, born and bred in Fish Hoek, studied at City and Guilds where he received his diploma in Professional Cookery as well as his diploma in Hotel Management and Operations.
He even completed an offshore survival course and is a trained health and safety officer.
So, he can cook, he will be able to save you and he knows exactly what to do to keep the ship sailing and the standards of our dishes and restaurant as high as possible.
After completion of his tertiary education, he set off to Miami, USA, where he was a line chef and expeditor at the famous Boca Pointe Grand Café.
He later returned to our shores to continue his career in South Africa where he put his talents on show at The Daily Bread, Deeghuys and many more.
Most recently he was the kitchen manager and holding manager at Ou Meul Stanford - so a familiar face in our valley!
Alaster has a love for food, cooking, entertaining and people.
He loves to experiment with food, try out new dishes and ideas and makes a mean steak and pasta - we even have his signature "Blondie" on our menu.
