Saturday Morning Market
Stoep of Stanford Hotel
Stanford boasts its own little Saturday morning market. Bring along a basket and buy your ready-made meals and picnic ingredients at the market. Fresh breads, pates and prepared dishes, delicious decadent cakes and pastries, banting friendly chicken pies and frittata muffins, gluten-free quiches, and fresh farm grown vegetables, salads, heirloom seedlings, jams and fresh homemade mozzarella, halloumi & ricotta. Callie and John are selling a variety of pates and terrines and other treats.
On Saturday 31 January The Tasting Room at Stanford Hills are hosting a special literary dinner with Lauren Beukes. Lauren, whose bestselling books include The Shining Girls and Broken Monsters, will give a short talk before dinner and later in the evening will happily answer questions from guests.
The dinner will be six different dishes prepared by executive chef Bridget Bartleman. These will be expertly paired with the range of estate wines on offer at Stanford Hills, and presented by winemaker Peter Kastner. This promises to be a most unique event, combining fine wines and gourmet dishes with a talk and signing by a truly talented South African writer.
Bookings essential, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 072 639 6135. The cost is R250 per person, including the wine pairing. A cash bar will be available for further drinks requirements.
Reduce your carbon footprint and get your fresh veggies at Graze. Always seasonal, always fresh. Stay for coffee and breakfast.
