Stanford through the eyes of Locals

Tucked away at the foot of the Klein River Mountains, you’ll find a rustic little village where the town’s folk travel by vintage bicycle and greets you with a nod or a wave. Declared a Heritage Site in its entirety, the village of Stanford has managed to maintain its “undiscovered” look and feel, and offers its visitors a taste of true country-style living.

With a proud heritage explained through the town’s historical walk, there is also an abundance of outdoor adventures to keep the whole family entertained. From leisurely strolls through the town to curious little shops and art galleries to exciting river cruises to big cat sanctuaries, there is plenty to keep everyone busy. The village is also home to South Africa’s 21st Wine Route and an impressive array of endemic birds to be viewed throughout the area.
